Friday July 26th - First day of convention

A day to remember always. Today we had the opening of the convention. As usual we were met with a lot of cool posters, different things to get us mingeling and making new dueser friends(card trading, bingo and a mysterygame). There were posters for us to sign for all our guests coming along during the weekend.

Our first guest was well longed for, Stephane our "head-chair" said that it only happens when the Wanamakers come from the states to a convention and last time it happened was in 2010, Paul Gross came to visit us! Now we didn't get to have any personal photos or autographs from him though but he was telling us stories about what had happened on and around Due South back in the days. Sitting on the side of the room maybe wasn't the best for photos but I got some.

Paul was also the first one getting the offical gift from the committé, a hand made, hand painted cabin.

We headed down for some late lunch at Loblaws and hadn't it been for Erin showing this on her Facebook before I would never have seen it. The Maple Leaf for the hockeyteam made out of chairs, probably leftover old ones as this is inside the old hockey arena.

Some reaccuring things on our conventions is the cinema, or episode viewing. This time we had it through encore+(that's on youtube) and they even sponsored us with popcorn(white cheddar taste). Also Jeopardy, the team didn't win but we had fun and if we had lost on the final question we would at least been left with 139 points.

In the evening Stephane told us about living in Labrador, and what beautiful pictures we got to see.
